Outside of disasters, Amateur Radio is useful in many ways. During a disaster: Whether it be natural or otherwise, widespread or localized, I would hate to think that an individual's life or the safety and well being of the community was dependent on the communication ability of an Amateur Radio Operator, but that communication ability was impossible due to BPL interference. Sad indeed, especially if human life was lost.....

I think the most disturbing part of this entire video is that every vehicle shown in motion is driving on the wrong side of the road.BPL seems like a minor issue in comparison.

Very sad to see/hear this. I'm hoping the use of the HF spectrum by Shanwick Aeronautical Communications in my part of the world (Western Ireland) will prevent similar from happening, but who knows.

It gets worse - imagine a metropolitan area that is served by hundreds of these 10 watt BPL transmitters, each spewing out most of that power as radiated energy. All that grunge will wipe out long-distance communications over large areas of the earth, 24 hours a day, thanks to ionospheric radio wave propagation (so-called "skip" reflection.)
