The thing is, all industrialised killing - from Hitler to our 'modern' abbatoires - is wastefully cruel and can go on because most of us do not have to see it. If we did, & if we had to do the killing ourselves, we would only eat what we needed, and most of us would probably eat much less meat. We are a pretty depraved species.
