Thanks.***This video was created by a few Québec artists to denounce the cuts in cultural funding by the Conservative governement, led by Stephen Harper. This version includes english subtitles. When Beau Dommage's Michel Rivard visits a newly formed governmental committee overseeing cultural financing, language gaps and cultural misunderstandings abounds, mostly when Rivard plays his classical song, "La Complainte du Phoque en Alaska" (The Complaint of the Seal in Alaska)...***I received a message from the original creators, so I assume it's accepted that my subtitled version doesn't interfere with their intellectual property.*** http://tupperfan.blogspot.com

That said, Québec is not first in unemployement still. If you still count Québec as "one of 10 provinces", it is right there in the middle of the pack. It has a much lower % of unemployement than what we see in the Maritimes, for example. With this, come similar figures for people on welfare. But looking at numbers without reshaping them however I see fit makes me a "sad individual" right?

As for the unemployement rate in Québec, it is near the lowest it has ever been, which should probably change soon thanks to the economy crisis we will (like the rest of the world) go through.Right now however, Québec hasn'y officially hit recession, while the same cannot be said about Ontario. Expect Ontario to catch up and even get a bigger rate soon enough. They already were announced to receive equalization.

Great for her, I also fully support exporting our talents whenever we can in the States, France or elsewhere and we sure have many of manage to.That said, it is still possible for many of the "others" to make a career locally, while the same really can't be said in the ROC.

Vineon, you are one sad individual. Celine Dion made millions because she went after the entire north american market and was very successful. rivard stayed in quebec, whined incessantly (like you) about the english because he could not sing/speak english and is a small time singer/joke. as for being distinct from the rest of canada, you are right. quebec is #1 in whining, unemployment, lack of foreign investment, welfare, etc.VIVE LE CANADA AVEC QUEBEC INTEGRE!
