2 words Blue Ray.PS3 is only $399. A good blue ray player alone can run you that much. I also have a 360 and do most of my gaming on it, but the PS3 is a good buy just for the Blue Ray player alone. The web browser is a nice touch too.

You recommend a PS3?You are clueless.It's quickly becoming clear the PS3 is dying quickly. After Christmas it's even more clear. People are just not going to spend $500 on a fucking game console right now. Many developers are also saying it's a nightmare to develop for because the tools for it are terrible and they are leaving the PS3 for the Wii and the 360.The safe bet is the 360. You can grab one for $299. The graphics are on par with the PS3 and it has a huge game library.
